St. Johnsbury man faces multiple charges after BB gun incident

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested Saturday evening after an altercation involving a BB gun, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities reported that at 5:44 p.m., they received a distress call from Alex Sargent, 40, who claimed his neighbor, Christopher Fuller, 48, was shooting at him with what he believed to be a BB gun.

The incident occurred on 4th Street where Sargent alleged he had to flee his home while Fuller pursued him in a jeep, continuing to shoot.

Troopers responded to the scene and apprehended Fuller, who now faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated stalking, criminal threatening, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and DUI.

Following his arrest, Fuller was taken to the state police barracks in St. Johnsbury, and later transferred to the Northeast Correctional Complex with bail set at $1,000.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have yet to release further details about the motive or circumstances leading up to the incident.
