SUTTON — A Sutton man was arrested and charged with a series of violent offenses, including first-degree aggravated domestic assault and other related charges, Vermont State Police reported.
At approximately 2:39 p.m. on April 18, troopers responded to a domestic disturbance at a Sutton residence.
The investigation revealed that Lucien Riggie, 38, allegedly hurled knives at a household member and threatened to set the home ablaze.
Riggie was apprehended and transported to the St. Johnsbury barracks for processing.
He is being held on $10,000 bail for multiple charges stemming from the April 18 incident, which also include two counts of second-degree aggravated domestic assault, violation of conditions of release, and committing an offense in the presence of a child.
Additionally, Riggie faces a charge of unlawful mischief for damages inflicted on a vehicle at the scene.
Further inquiries into Riggie’s conduct uncovered a prior domestic assault incident from mid-March.
Subsequent to the April 18 arrest, additional charges were levied against Riggie for the earlier assault, including interference with access to emergency services.
Riggie has been flash cited to appear in Caledonia County Criminal Division court on Dec. 19 at 12:30 p.m.
The Vermont State Police have not released the names of the victims, adhering to privacy policies for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
