NEEDHAM — A flurry of activity kept Needham police officers busy with various incidents ranging from fraud to break-ins and traffic violations, as reported in a recent summary of police activity.
On April 8 at around 11:15 a.m., an officer responded to a government building to document a report of past suspicious behavior.
The same day, a check fraud case emerged when a counterfeit check was cashed at a Highland Avenue bank, with the investigation ongoing as of the last update.
A breaking and entering report at a First Avenue construction site was made at approximately 3:32 p.m., and shortly after, at 3:46 p.m., a 45-year-old Framingham resident was cited for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a red light violation.
The following morning, on April 9, officers aided in the handling of a disabled vehicle, resulting in citations for a 34-year-old Medway woman for driving with a revoked registration and without insurance.
Later that evening, officers attended a Greendale Avenue address after a report of a past assault.
Other responses included a noise complaint dispute between neighbors on Second Avenue, a motor vehicle crash on Highland Avenue, and a traffic stop that led to a Hanson man being summoned to court for various traffic violations.
Residents reported a variety of concerns, including threatening messages, suspicious persons, and a cryptocurrency scam.
An ongoing disturbance on Greendale Avenue, a vehicle with misattached plates, and identity fraud attempts were among the situations that required police attention.
Items were reported possibly lost or stolen from a Second Avenue residence, and disturbances on Pilgrim Road and Chestnut Place were also handled by the officers.
A past larceny of a check and suspicious activities were additionally reported by residents.
