MANCHESTER — A local middle school teacher was charged with multiple counts of risk of injury to minors and breach of peace, according to the Manchester Police Department.
Floyd Gray, 58, of Hartford, turned himself in on April 16 after an arrest warrant was issued in response to allegations of inappropriate conduct with students at Illing Middle School.
The police received complaints on Feb. 8 from three students who reported that Gray had touched them inappropriately and made improper comments during class.
The students, not all from the same class, described similar encounters with the teacher.
The Manchester Police collaborated with the Manchester Public Schools Administration and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families to investigate the allegations.
Following the investigations, authorities charged Gray with three counts each of second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.
Gray was released on bond with a court appearance scheduled for April 17 at Hartford Superior Court.
The investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone with more information to come forward.
