SPRINGFIELD — Two individuals were arrested and charged with violation of abuse prevention orders and disorderly conduct following an incident on Frederick Street.

Springfield Police Department officers responded to a reported assault at approximately 7:23 a.m. on April 11.

Upon arrival, they encountered Tracey Goodrich and Kileen McCooey, who were both found to have violated stalking orders against each other by initiating contact.

In addition to breaching the orders, Goodrich and McCooey were involved in fighting and tumultuous behavior, authorities said.

Officers Ofc. Singleton and Cpl. Perkins led the investigation.

Both defendants were issued criminal citations and are scheduled to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on June 4 to address the charges.

The police department clarified that the handling of bail and incarceration falls under the jurisdiction of the judicial system, including judges, court clerks, and the state attorney’s office, and is not controlled by police authorities.
