EAST HAMPTON — In a recent flurry of police activity, East Hampton residents and those from surrounding towns have faced a variety of charges ranging from motor vehicle violations to criminal behavior, according to a press release from the East Hampton Police Department.
Austin Guerin, 21, was issued a summons on March 27 for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Within the same week, Carly Putnam, 21, and a 17-year-old male juvenile were ticketed for traveling unreasonably fast.
The traffic-related offenses continued with Luis Fernandez, 53, facing more severe allegations.
On March 29, Fernandez was issued a summons for criminal mischief in the third degree and larceny in the sixth degree.
He is expected to appear in Middletown Superior Court on April 9 at 9 a.m.
Brent Tardie, 51, was summoned on April 1 for misuse of plates and operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle, with a court date set for April 17.
In the first week of April, several individuals, including Jacob Karrenberg, 18, Jessica Hull, 34, and Dino Cecunjanin, 18, received tickets for excessive speed.
James Jones, 26, was ticketed on April 4 for an illegal burn.
Rex Walden, 42, joined the list of motor vehicle infractions on April 8, cited for misuse of plates and operating an unregistered vehicle.
That same day, a 15-year-old male juvenile from Portland faced multiple charges including taking a motor vehicle without permission.
The police also reported arrests for more serious offenses.
Christopher Lyford, 50, was arrested for disorderly conduct on April 10, with a scheduled court appearance on April 11.
Mark Barton, 56, faced charges including violation of a protective order and was released on a $10,000 bond, with his court date also on April 11.
On April 11, Katelyn Richardson, 34, was arrested for criminal mischief in the third degree and criminal trespass in the third degree, with her court appearance scheduled for April 23.
Zachary Russenberger, 28, was taken into custody on April 16 pursuant to an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in the second degree.
He posted a $10,000 bond and is due in court on April 30.
From April 1 to April 14, East Hampton officers responded to 34 medical calls, three motor vehicle accidents, 14 alarms, and made 34 traffic stops.
The police department reminds the public that an arrest or infraction does not indicate a conviction, and all individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
