WORCESTER — A Worcester man was arrested Thursday after allegedly robbing and assaulting a 72-year-old man who had photographed him urinating in public.

The Worcester Police Department reported that officers responded to a lobby complaint at their headquarters on April 13, concerning an unarmed robbery that had occurred earlier.

The victim reported that while outside his Millbury Street apartment, he had taken pictures of a man urinating on the sidewalk.

The man, later identified as 35-year-old Livingston Taylor, became aggressive and chased the victim through Kelly Square.

According to the police, Taylor pushed the elderly man to the ground and forcibly took his phone.

Officers received a detailed description of the phone and images of the suspect, which helped in the investigation.

Later that day, two patrolling officers spotted Taylor on Madison Street, still wearing the same clothes captured in the victim’s photos.

Upon his arrest, the stolen phone was found in Taylor’s pocket and was positively identified as belonging to the victim.

Taylor has been charged with unarmed robbery with a victim over 60 and assault and battery with a victim over 60.

The Worcester Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation.
