WATERFORD — A man was arrested Thursday afternoon for using a fraudulent credit card to purchase an off-road vehicle, according to the Waterford Police Department.
On April 11, at 12:13 p.m., Waterford police were called to Motorsports Nation on Cross Road after the business reported a larceny that occurred on March 25.
A male subject had used a fraudulent credit card to buy a 2023 Can-Am off-road vehicle worth $29,298.36.
The credit card company initially approved the transaction, allowing the subject to take the vehicle.
The fraud came to light when an Arizona woman noticed unauthorized charges on her credit card and reported them to her bank.
Julio F. Moore, 34, of Norwalk, returned to the dealership at 5:23 p.m. to collect the title and paperwork for the vehicle when police apprehended him.
He is charged with first-degree larceny.
