OSSIPEE — A domestic disturbance call escalated into a violent confrontation with police, leading to the arrest of a local man on multiple charges, authorities said.
Ossipee Police Department responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Monday after reports indicated that Patrick Robinson, 40, was assaulting his wife and possibly his children inside their home.
Upon arrival, the responding officer heard a commotion and entered the residence to find Robinson preventing his wife from leaving the kitchen.
Attempts to detain Robinson were met with resistance, resulting in a struggle that ensued until additional officers from Madison and Effingham arrived to assist.
Despite the combined efforts, Robinson continued to fight, assaulting all three officers in the process.
Robinson was ultimately subdued and arrested, facing charges including breach of bail, four counts of resisting arrest/detention, four counts of simple assault and attempted assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, stalking, domestic violence-false imprisonment, domestic violence-obstructing report of crime/injury, and simple assault.
Following his arrest, Robinson was held at the Carroll County House of Corrections.
He appeared before the Ossipee District Court on Tuesday and was ordered to remain in preventative detention.
The officers involved in the incident did not require medical attention and resumed patrol duties the same night.
