EDDINGTON — A Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office deputy seized 60 grams of fentanyl during a routine traffic stop on Route 9 on April 3 at 8:50 p.m., according to a media release from the office.

Sheriff Troy Morton reported that the deputy, who is assigned to Eddington and Clifton, initiated the stop and discovered that a passenger in the vehicle was out of jail on five separate bail conditions.

The deputy’s investigation during the stop established probable cause to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the fentanyl.
