LONDONDERRY — A Massachusetts man was taken into custody early Sunday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 93, authorities said.
At 2:29 a.m., Trooper Guilbeault of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B barracks spotted a gray 2020 Chevrolet Trax traveling north at speeds exceeding 100 mph and weaving out of its lane.
When Guilbeault attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Jonathen Petrie, 32, of Bedford, Massachusetts, refused to stop and continued to speed.
The pursuit escalated as Petrie accelerated to 108 mph and drove erratically.
The chase proceeded onto Interstate 293 in Manchester, where Troopers from Troop D successfully deployed stop sticks just north of exit 7, deflating two of the Trax’s tires.
The vehicle came to a stop at mile marker 9.2 on the northbound side of I-293.
Petrie now faces charges including reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, and resisting arrest, in addition to other violation-level offenses.
He is expected to appear in Manchester District Court.
The New Hampshire State Police are seeking further information on the incident.
Witnesses or individuals with additional details are encouraged to contact Trooper Guilbeault at (603) 223-4381.
