CHARLOTTE — A Colchester woman has been charged with multiple felonies, including grand larceny and possession of stolen property, following an investigation into the theft of a vehicle from a Charlotte driveway.
State Police say Josihanna Poirier, 46, was identified as the suspect who allegedly took the vehicle belonging to Christopher Coleman, 45, of Charlotte.
The vehicle was reported stolen on the morning of Jan. 7 after Coleman discovered it missing.
Although the vehicle was found unoccupied in Shelburne on Jan. 11, it was not until March 18 that Poirier was arrested by the Burlington Police Department on unrelated charges.
Following her arrest, further investigation linked Poirier to the Charlotte vehicle theft.
Poirier, who also faces charges for driving with a suspended license, is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division on July 24 at 8:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities indicate that additional criminal charges may be filed.
The Vermont State Police have requested that anyone with information regarding the incident contact the Williston Barracks at 802-878-7111.
The successful identification and charging of Poirier was the result of cooperation between the Vermont State Police and the Shelburne and Burlington Police Departments.
