PORTSMOUTH — Officers from the Portsmouth Police Department arrested a former colleague Wednesday night after a fight at a local diner led to an investigation that involved multiple law enforcement agencies.

The incident occurred on Nov. 22 at approximately 10:30 p.m. when authorities were called to the scene of a disturbance at a Fleet Street eatery.

Among the individuals involved was Aaron Goodwin, 45, of Eliot, Maine, a former officer with the Portsmouth Police Department.

Due to the nature of the altercation, the Portsmouth Police sought assistance from the New Hampshire State Police in investigating the assault and the events surrounding it.

As a result of the inquiry, arrest warrants were issued for Aaron Goodwin and two others: Kevin Goodwin, 42, and Shannon Goodwin, 37, both of Dundalk, M.D.

Both Aaron and Kevin Goodwin face charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct, while Shannon Goodwin has been charged with three counts of simple assault in addition to disorderly conduct.

On March 15, Aaron Goodwin turned himself in to the New Hampshire State Police.

He was processed and released on personal recognizance bail, with an April 22 court date set in Portsmouth District Court.

Meanwhile, authorities are making arrangements to apprehend Kevin and Shannon Goodwin on their outstanding warrants.

The Portsmouth Police, the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center, the Maryland State Police, and the Strafford County Attorney’s Office are among the agencies collaborating on this case.
