GOFFSTOWN — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office issued a scam alert on March 14 after receiving multiple reports of fraudulent phone calls to New Hampshire residents by individuals claiming to be Sheriff’s deputies and U.S.
District Attorney’s Office employees.
The scammers have been impersonating a Sergeant from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and staff from the U.S.
District Court’s Office, falsely informing targets that they have missed jury duty.
These calls are part of a scheme to coax personal information from unsuspecting victims.
Authorities emphasized that these calls are not legitimate and are urging the public to remain vigilant.
Residents who have received similar calls are encouraged to promptly report the incident to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (603) 627-5610 or to visit their office at 329 Mast Road, Goffstown, NH, for assistance and to file a report.
The Sheriff’s office is actively investigating the matter and seeks to prevent further victimization of county residents.
