THETFORD — An investigation by the Vermont State Police and the Department of Children and Families into a report of child sexual abuse has led to the arrest of a Vershire man.
William Lund, 34, was taken into custody on charges of aggravated sexual assault, authorities said.
The investigation, which started in December, was initiated after authorities received a report concerning the abuse.
Due to the nature of the crime, the identity of the victim has not been released by the Vermont State Police, in accordance with their policy on cases of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Lund is scheduled to appear in court on April 3 to face the charges.
