WEBSTER — A juvenile was arrested Thursday evening after brandishing a BB gun that resembled a real firearm at a Taco Bell/KFC restaurant, causing alarm to a DoorDash driver and prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.

Around 6 p.m., the South Worcester County Communications Center received a distressing call from the delivery driver, who reported encountering the juvenile male at the establishment located at 71 East Main Street.

The young individual, who appeared to be weaponized and expressed concern about the presence of a police officer nearby, displayed what seemed to be a firearm to the caller.

Webster Police Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they quickly located the juvenile and found him in possession of a realistic-looking BB gun.

He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Webster Police Department.

The incident marks a repeated offense for the young individual, who had previously been summoned to court for carrying a dangerous weapon, suspected to be the same BB gun.

The juvenile has reportedly been involved in similar disturbances in the past.

Following the arrest, the juvenile was released to his parents’ custody.

He is slated to appear at Dudley District Juvenile Court to face charges for Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Local authorities have highlighted the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the potential for dire consequences stemming from such actions.

The Webster Police Department extended their gratitude to the alert DoorDash driver whose prompt reporting of the incident played a critical role in the peaceful resolution.
