Barton man held without bail following assault, resisting arrest charges

BARTON — A Barton man is being held without bail on charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and resisting arrest following an incident Tuesday evening.

Vermont State Police received a call at approximately 6:14 p.m. on March 5 about a patient at North Country Hospital who reported being assaulted at a residence on Park Street in Barton.

An investigation revealed that Christopher Silvestro, 45, had allegedly caused serious bodily injury to a household member.

Troopers located Silvestro at his Barton residence and took him into custody after a brief struggle.

He was transported to the state police barracks in Derby for processing before being lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility.
