SPRINGFIELD — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a man with six active in-state warrants on Saturday night, according to Springfield police.
Officers Freeman and Clark stopped a vehicle for speeding on Skitchewaug Trail at 9:18 p.m. During the stop, passenger Scott Sargent was identified and found to allegedly have outstanding warrants.
Sargent was taken into custody without incident and has been issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Monday to answer to the charge of Arrest on an In-State Warrant.
Following his arrest, Sargent was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility pending bail.
