BOSTON — A 17-year-old boy was arrested on charges of armed robbery after allegedly threatening a person with a knife outside an East Boston ATM Monday night, police said.
Boston Police officers from District A-7 responded to a call at about 8:07 p.m. near 212 Maverick Street, where a victim reported being robbed at knifepoint shortly after withdrawing money.
The suspect’s description was promptly broadcasted, leading officers to find the teen seated in front of the ATM matching the given details.
Upon further investigation, police handcuffed the suspect and retrieved a knife from his jacket pocket.
The juvenile was charged with armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
