MANCHESTER — A 22-year-old local man was arrested Sunday by Manchester police in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier in the day, officials said.

The incident took place on Feb. 19 at about 1:20 p.m. when police were called to the intersection of Nashua St and Maple St after receiving reports of gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers found a female victim who had been struck in the arm by gunfire outside 37 Nashua Street.

She sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The building also showed signs of damage, and several shell casings were discovered at the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a black car approach the address before two males exited the vehicle.

At least one of the individuals fired multiple shots toward the building before both suspects fled the area.

After an extensive investigation, police identified Johaly Maria of Manchester as one of the males involved in the shooting.

Maria has been charged with first-degree assault, reckless conduct, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

As the investigation continues, Manchester police urge anyone with information about the shooting to contact them at 603-668-8711.
