Boston police seek help identifying suspect in attempted break-in

BOSTON — Boston Police Department detectives from District D-14 are requesting the public’s assistance to identify an individual involved in an attempted breaking and entering at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 18.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of 140 North Beacon Street.

The suspect, described as a light-skinned male with a moustache and thin build, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds, was caught on surveillance attempting to enter the building.

He was wearing a black knit hat, a black scarf or face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt over a dark green garment, black pants, black sneakers with white accents, and black gloves.

The individual tried to access the property by melting the lock with a propylene torch.

The Boston Police Department is diligently investigating the situation and encourages anyone with information to contact District D-14 Detectives at (617) 343-4256.

The identities of individuals who choose to assist the investigation anonymously will be protected with utmost care.
