MONTPELIER — A physical altercation at a Main Street apartment building led to the arrest of a 63-year-old Montpelier man for simple assault, police said Friday.
Officers from the Montpelier Police Department responded to the incident at 9:36 a.m. on Feb. 10 after receiving reports of a fight.
An investigation at the scene determined that an argument over drug sales had escalated into violence, resulting in the assault.
Officer Hunter Lane and Sergeant Christopher Quesnel conducted the investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in the assault.
No assisting agencies were reported to be involved in the response or investigation.
