WHEELOCK — A 35-year-old Wheelock man was arrested on an active warrant for embezzlement late Thursday night.
At 12:29 a.m., Newport Police located Christopher Briggs on Portland Street, where he was found as a passenger in a parked vehicle.
Authorities had prior knowledge of Briggs’ active warrant and proceeded to arrest him on the charge.
Briggs is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 15 to face the embezzlement charges.
