NORTH ADAMS — Four individuals were arrested and two were issued criminal complaints following a narcotics investigation that led to the execution of search warrants at two apartments on Spring Street on the evening of Feb. 14.
North Adams Police, involving both their Detective Unit and Patrol Division, simultaneously entered apartments 308 and 309 at 45 Spring Street after obtaining the necessary warrants.
The raids were the culmination of an extensive investigation into local drug trafficking activities.
During the search, officers confiscated a variety of evidence, including a Glock 43 semi-automatic firearm loaded with two rounds of 9mm ammunition, an additional 9mm round, approximately 22 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine, around 20 bags of suspected heroin, digital scales for weighing narcotics, $532 in cash, and other items consistent with drug distribution.
The names of the individuals taken into custody and those issued criminal complaints have not been released pending further investigation.
The North Adams Police Department has stated that this operation is part of a larger effort to combat the distribution of narcotics in the community.
