HOOKSETT — A local man was arrested on multiple felony charges for possession of child sexual abuse images following a thorough investigation by the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force and local authorities.
Detective Trevor Dearden of the Hooksett Police Department received a cyber tip from the ICAC Task Force on Nov. 27 regarding a potential case involving child sexual abuse images.
After initiating an investigation, Dearden was able to identify a suspect.
Subsequent to obtaining search warrants for the suspect’s phone and cloud account, a forensic examination revealed numerous images and videos of child sexual abuse in the cloud account that belonged to the suspect.
The investigation culminated on Feb. 7 when Detective Dearden applied for an arrest warrant, which was granted.
Two days later, on Feb. 9, Derek Aubuchon, 44, of Hooksett, was taken into custody without incident.
Aubuchon now faces nine felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse images.
Following his arrest, Aubuchon was released on personal recognizance.
He is scheduled to appear before the 6th Circuit Court in Hooksett on March 21.
The Hooksett Police Department is soliciting the public’s assistance for any additional information related to this case.
