HUDSON — Hudson Police were alerted to suspicious activity involving bright lights in a wooded area near passing vehicles around 7:45 p.m. Upon arrival, two juveniles, previously reported missing, fled from officers into the woods.
While one juvenile was quickly found, the other disappeared into a dense forested area, prompting concerns for their safety due to the darkness, cold temperatures, and potential water hazards.
Officer Josh Rahn deployed the department’s drone, leading to the discovery of the second juvenile lying on the ground approximately 1700 feet from the initial entry point, after a 26-minute aerial search.
Officers Andrew Garceau and Sgt. Sam Leandres, guided by the drone operator, reached the juvenile’s location and safely retrieved them.
Both juveniles were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation, and the individuals who reported them missing were notified of their safe recovery.
