Driver arrested for DWI after car goes airborne on I-93 in Ashland

ASHLAND — A vehicle went airborne off exit 24 northbound on Interstate 93 late Wednesday night, leading to the arrest of the driver for driving while intoxicated, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Authorities said Trooper Murphy responded to the incident at approximately 11:08 p.m. after a witness driving behind the vehicle reported the event.

The car reportedly left the roadway and became airborne in a dramatic exit from the highway.

Despite the severity of the incident, there were no injuries reported.

The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested on the scene for DWI.

They were subsequently held in the Grafton County House of Corrections for Protective Custody.

New Hampshire State Police are using this incident as a reminder to all motorists of the importance of making responsible decisions when it comes to driving.
