SHOREHAM — Vermont State Police arrested a local man Saturday evening on charges of domestic assault after a juvenile family member was injured.
Alan Byrnes, 34, of Shoreham, was taken into custody following an investigation that began earlier this month into allegations of assault within the household.
The inquiry by the Vermont State Police – Bureau of Criminal Investigations, focused on an incident that reportedly occurred in Shoreham.
Authorities issued Byrnes a citation for Domestic Assault on Jan. 23, after determining that he had caused bodily injury to the juvenile.
The name of the victim has not been disclosed in compliance with Vermont State Police policy on cases of domestic violence.
Byrnes is expected to appear in court to face the charges.
The Vermont State Police have not provided further details about the case as it remains an ongoing investigation.
