GLOVER — A high-speed chase involving a woman with an arrest warrant for multiple felonies ended in her arrest late Thursday evening after eluding law enforcement officers in a dangerous pursuit through the NEK.

Savannah Cole, 29, of St. Johnsbury, was first spotted by a Lyndonville Police Department patrol officer on Dec. 29 around 6:30 p.m. driving a vehicle linked to an individual wanted for multiple felonies.

Attempting to initiate a traffic stop on Depot Street, the officer’s efforts were thwarted as Cole failed to yield and fled onto I-91 northbound at Exit 24, driving recklessly at high speeds.

Despite the intervention of Vermont State Police, including an unsuccessful attempt to deploy spike strips, Cole executed an illegal U-turn near Orleans and headed south on I-91.

The chase continued on Route 16, with Cole eventually evading officers in the Glover area.

In a second encounter on Dec. 30 at approximately 12:19 a.m., Cole was again observed by Lyndonville Police exiting I-91 at Exit 24. Despite the activation of blue lights and sirens, Cole did not stop and led officers on another pursuit through Burke.

The chase concluded on the front lawn of a Newark residence, where Cole was apprehended at gunpoint. Cole was wanted on charges including Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Mischief over $1,000, Larceny from a Person, Violation of Probation, and Accessory to Assault and Robbery with a Weapon.

Following her arrest, she was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility on a $5,000 bail. Her vehicle was seized and removed by Caledonia Wrecker.
