MANCHESTER — Police are investigating two armed robberies that took place just hours apart on Friday morning in the city.
The first incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at Z&J Market on Bridge Street.
A clerk reported that a man, after approaching the counter with food items, brandished a revolver from his jacket, aimed it at him, and demanded money.
The clerk complied, and the suspect fled on foot.
Authorities described the suspect as a white male with glasses, dressed in a dark jacket and pants, with a dark green scarf covering his face and wearing grey gloves.
A second robbery was reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. at Union St. Market on Union Street.
Employees there recounted a similar scenario: a white male entered the store, selected a few items, and while at the counter, produced what seemed to be a revolver.
He pointed the weapon at the employees and demanded cash.
After obtaining the money, he left the premises on foot.
The suspect’s description and the firearm used in the second robbery closely matched those of the first incident.
