DERBY — As another holiday season approaches, the Century 21 Farm and Forest’s Derby and Burke offices wrapped up their annual Brock and Brynn’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. The initiative has transformed both real estate offices into hubs of community support and giving.

The Maclure family, deeply committed to community and charity, spearheaded the food drive to instill these values in their children, Brock and Brynn. What began as a small family tradition has since blossomed into an event for local residents in need.

“The food drive was something that we began when our son Brock was about two years old,” Megan Maclure, Broker/Owner at Century 21 Farm & Forest said, reflecting on the initiative’s origins. “The goal was to teach community service from a young age, involving Brock and Brynn from the start, and gradually expanding to include the wider community.”

Since becoming a public event in 2017, the food drive has consistently garnered support from office staff and local residents alike. Thanks to both the monetary and food donations collected, the offices were able to make a generous delivery just before Thanksgiving. The Derby office supported Northeast Kingdom Community Action, an organization renowned for its continuous efforts to assist area residents, and the Burke office successfully delivered a generous cache of Thanksgiving supplies to the Lyndon Area Food Shelf.

At the heart of the initiative are Brock and Brynn, now aged 10 and almost 8, whose excitement for their annual food drive is infectious. Their involvement extends from shopping to delivery, tying the charitable act to Brock’s birthday on November 6th each year. Their enthusiasm is a reminder of how the smallest actions can make a significant impact.

The Brock and Brynn’s Thanksgiving Food Drive stands as a testament to the power of coming together for a common cause. The spirit of giving doesn’t end here, as Century 21 Farm and Forest is currently preparing for their next charitable venture, a toy drive that aims to bring holiday cheer to local children.
