Norwich man arrested for aggravated domestic assault

NORWICH — A local man was arrested on charges of aggravated first-degree domestic assault following an incident at a private residence on Nov. 8, according to the Norwich Police Department.

Officers responded to a call at 8:45 p.m. and discovered a 61-year-old man with a bleeding wound on his forehead.

The initial investigation revealed that the injured man, who had reported himself as a victim, had actually strangled another individual during the altercation.

After consulting with the Windsor County State’s Attorney’s Office, police arrested the man and charged him with aggravated first-degree domestic assault.

Following a discussion with an on-call Superior Court Judge, conditions of release and a $2,500 bond were set.

The suspect was taken to the Southern States Correctional Facility in Windsor pending bail or a court appearance.
