DERBY LINE — The community of Derby Line mourns the loss of a beloved figure, Roland “Buzzy” Roy, who passed away on October 27, at the age of 81. Born in 1942, Buzzy’s commitment to his family and community left a lasting imprint on the hearts of many.

Raised in Derby Line, Buzzy was known as a pillar of the community. He took the reins of the family pharmacy while still pursuing his studies in pharmacy school and dedicated 50 years to the business. More than just a pharmacist, Buzzy dispensed warmth, kindness, and care to all who entered.

His commitment to the community extended beyond the confines of the pharmacy. Buzzy’s tenure as a village trustee saw him deeply involved in the growth and well-being of the village he was so proud to call home.

Beyond his professional commitments, Buzzy held a deep love for sailing on Lake Memphremagog.

His passion for knowledge and community was evident in his role on the board of the Haskell library. Here, Buzzy continued to share his fervor for learning and enrich the lives of those around him.

In death, Buzzy is reunited with his parents, his sister Cynthia, and his wife, Sandra.
