BRATTLEBORO –– A local man was arrested for aggravated disorderly conduct at the Groundworks Drop-In Shelter on South Main Street on Thursday, October 27.
Tadros Hoth, 33, of Brattleboro, was reported to be intoxicated and creating a disturbance at the shelter around 8:10 a.m., according to Officer Washburn.
The investigation revealed that Hoth arrived at the shelter in an inebriated state and was denied entry to the locked building.
While outside, he allegedly behaved in a disorderly manner and threatened staff members.
At one point, Hoth was seen with a hatchet, banging it on a fence outside.
There were no individuals present outside the shelter at the time, and no injuries were reported. Hoth was taken into custody without any incident.
The hatchet he had been holding was later found nearby.
Hoth was arrested and transported to the Brattleboro Police Department. He was lodged in lieu of $200 bail and is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court on October 30.
The Brattleboro Police Department emphasizes that all individuals arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted of a crime in court.
