KILLINGTON –– A 21-year-old Rutland man was arrested for excessive speed and negligent operation of a motor vehicle in Killington on October 15.
Cory W. Drinwater was clocked traveling 80 mph in a 35 mph zone on the Killington Road near Merrill Drive during a rainstorm, according to the Killington Police Department.
Officer Gregory Ricketts conducted a traffic stop and identified Drinwater as the driver.
Drinwater was placed under arrest and transported to the Killington Police Department for processing. His vehicle was later towed from the scene.
Charges against Drinwater include excessive speed and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Drinwater was released on citation and is scheduled to appear at the Rutland Superior Court – Criminal Division on December 18 at 10 a.m. to answer to the charges.
