EAST DORSET — A 50-year-old man from Maryland was cited for excessive speeding in East Dorset today.
Police say they observed a black SUV traveling south at a high rate of speed as the SUV entered a 40 miles-per-hour zone at around 2:30 p.m.
Police say the vehicle was clocked traveling 73 miles-per-hour in a posted 40 miles-per-hour zone.
The driver was identified as Vijaya Mohan Poturaju, of Ellicott City, MD.
Poturaju was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding with a waiver penalty of $503 and was released with a citation to answer the charge at a later date and time.
