Fire breaks out at Protolabs Manufacturing in Nashua

NASHUA –– Nashua Fire Department responded swiftly to a fire alarm at Protolabs Manufacturing on Charron Ave Saturday morning, ensuring the fire was under control within minutes.

Crews arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial call, which came in at approximately 6:35 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found smoke billowing from a large commercial building.

A working fire status was promptly requested, bringing additional resources including more personnel, apparatus, and an AMR ambulance to the scene.

As firefighters entered the large industrial manufacturing building, they encountered activated sprinklers, smoke, and a fire in a wax molding machine.

Eight workers were immediately evacuated while crews worked to extinguish the fire. Large fans were set up to remove the smoke from the building.

As part of the firefighting efforts, water supplies were set up using hydrants on Charron Ave, which was temporarily closed to traffic.

Two ladder trucks were also deployed to access the building’s roof and provide firefighters with an entry point from above.

The fire was brought under control by 6:51 a.m., and crews remained at the scene to assist in clearing water and smoke from the building.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office, though it appears to be accidental.

In the wake of the incident, Nashua Fire Department reminds the public to evacuate buildings immediately when fire alarms sound, emphasizing that prompt evacuation is the best way to ensure personal safety.
