KILLINGTON –– A Killington man, Alex B. Bernatonis, 35, was arrested and charged with excessive speed and negligent operation of a motor vehicle on Oct. 12.
Local police officer Gregory Ricketts was conducting stationary radar on the Killington Flats around 10:19 p.m. when he clocked Bernatonis driving at 99 mph in a 50 mph zone.
The speed violation was exacerbated by heavy fog conditions on US Route 4 near Rabeck Mountain Road.
Following a traffic stop, Bernatonis was arrested and later released on citation.
He is scheduled to appear at the Vermont Superior Court – Criminal Division on Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. to respond to the charges.
