POWNAL — A 58-year-old man from Bennington is facing multiple charges following an incident in Pownal.
On July 9, authorities say they were notified of a theft that occurred at the Ladd Brook Inn parking lot at around 4:00 a.m.
The caller identified as Paquale J. Passarette.
Police say he reported that he was robbed and that his money was stolen during an incident that occurred at the Ladd Brook Inn parking lot at around 3:00 a.m.
Following an investigation, police say that Passarette provided a false narrative to Troopers to deflect an investigation.
Police learned that he attempted to purchase crack cocaine in a drug deal that transpired.
Yesterday, Passarette turned himself in to the Bennington Police Department on an instate arrest warrant and was cited for the following charges and is scheduled to appear in court today.
He is charged with possession of cocaine, and false information to a police officer
