NEWPORT –– A unique photography exhibit, curated by three art students from North Country Union High School, has found a new home at Montgomery Café inside Newport Natural Foods, bringing vibrant color prints from around the U.S. and the world to the community of Newport.

Originally set to open on March 18, 2020, at Diana Mara Henry’s Red Wall Gallery on Main Street, the exhibit faced an abrupt cancellation due to school closures aimed at slowing the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. After a hiatus, the “As Yet Unseen” collection is finally available for public viewing, running through October 2023.

The exhibit, featuring exquisitely made color prints by Don Whipple, offers glimpses of people and scenes from various locations around the globe. Each piece in the collection is available for purchase, providing art enthusiasts an opportunity to own a slice of this visual journey. Additionally, “Women on the Move,” a book narrated by Diana Mara Henry and containing 250 of her photographs, is available for those wishing to explore more of the artist’s work.

Raiden S. Brown, Tarah Michelle Vasquez, and Lindsay Wiggett, students of April Caspari and Natalie Guillette in the NCUHS Visual Art Program, have gained experience in their chosen paths for careers in the arts, including art history and criticism.

Art lovers are also offered a unique opportunity to engage with the artist. Diana Mara Henry is open to joining individuals or groups for lunch or coffee at the Café to discuss her work. Those interested in scheduling a meet-up with the artist can contact her at 802-334-7054.
