MOULTONBOROUGH –– Firefighters responded to a fully involved garage fire at 56 Pine Needle Lane at 2:45 p.m. yesterday, containing the blaze to its room of origin and preventing further damage to the dwelling.
When Moultonborough Fire Rescue first arrived on the scene, they encountered a well-involved fire and immediately requested a 1st Alarm assignment. Assistance was provided by Stewart’s Ambulance, Center Harbor, Sandwich, and Tuftonboro fire departments under their preplanned automatic aid agreement.
Moultonborough’s Rescue 2 unit initiated the fire attack, and a Tuftonboro engine arrived shortly after, searching the building and placing another attack line in operation. Moultonborough Engine 1 also arrived, placing a third line in operation and performing ventilation operations.
Water supply was provided by tankers from Sandwich and Tuftonboro, along with Moultonborough Engine 3 at a hydrant on Old Logging Road.
The teams managed a quick knockdown of the fire, containing it to the room of origin.
A tanker from Meredith was also dispatched to the scene, while an engine from Holderness covered Moultonborough Central Station.
The dwelling suffered an estimated $110,000 in damage. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
