POWNAL — A 35-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Pownal on Thursday.
Authorities say they were notified of a violation of conditions of release complaint on Route 346 at around 6:30 p.m.
Police say statements from a witness indicated that Jonathan Gardner, of Pownal, had violated his conditions of release by being within a certain distance of a residence.
The conditions of release stem from a recent arrest for aggravated sexual assault.
Gardner was later located, arrested, and transported to the Shaftsbury State Police barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in court on October 9.
