Clarendon man facing multiple charges

CLARENDON — A 48-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an incident in Clarendon on Saturday.

Authorities say they were notified of an assault at Rutland Regional Medical Center at around 5:30 p.m.

Police allege that Daniel Surrell, of Clarendon, caused pain or serious injury to a family or household member and violated multiple conditions of release.

He was placed under arrest after a brief struggle in which he resisted arrest, police say.

A search of his person yielded suspected narcotics.

He was transported to the Rutland State Police barracks for processing and issued court-ordered conditions of release and given a citation to appear in court to answer the charges of 1st degree aggravated domestic assault, 2nd degree aggravated domestic assault, violation of conditions of release x6, possession of a depressant, and resisting arrest.

He was held at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility without bail.
