Intensive search continues for Westmore woman missing since Friday

WESTMORE — Efforts to find 72-year-old Judith Giglio of Westmore, who was last seen on Friday, Sept. 8, have intensified, with about 90 people participating in the search operations today.

The Vermont State Police stated that Giglio went missing around 3:30 p.m. at 45 Goodwin Mountain Lane in Westmore. She is described as being between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 145-150 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair. It was noted that Giglio might walk with a limp and was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray shirt, and gray Crocs slip-on shoes. While her disappearance is not considered suspicious, concerns arise due to her health conditions.

Since the commencement of the search on Friday, over 4 square miles have been combed by various teams and volunteers. Organizations involved include the Vermont State Police Search and Rescue Team, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program, Field Force Division, Vermont Warden Service, New England K9 Search and Rescue, and several other local EMS, fire departments, and community groups.

Residents in the vicinity of Goodwin Mountain Lane have been requested to share any surveillance footage or photographs that might assist in the search. Anyone with pertinent information is urged to contact the Derby Barracks at 802-334-8881.

Search operations concluded at 7:30 p.m. today and are scheduled to resume on Tuesday morning. Limited overnight searches were conducted between Sunday and Monday.
