Man arrested for burglary, criminal threatening in Newport Center

NEWPORT CENTER –– A man has been arrested following a reported home invasion on Lawson Road in Newport Center on Sept. 2.

The Vermont State Police were called to the scene at around 8:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a burglary.

Upon investigation, officers discovered that Daniel Bolio, 37, of Newport Center, had unlawfully entered a residence and subsequently caused property damage.

Further inquiries indicated that Bolio made threats towards the occupant, Daniel Belisle, 58, upon his exit from the property. Wyatt Willis, 36, also of Lawson Road, was identified as a second victim in the incident.

Bolio was promptly apprehended by troopers and was taken to the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks for further processing.

Following his arrest, he was confined at the Northern State Correctional Facility.

He faces charges of burglary, unlawful mischief, and criminal threatening.
