Serious crash in Pittsfield leaves three injured

PITTSFIELD— A serious motor vehicle collision on Merrill Rd in Pittsfield on August left three people injured, according to a media release from Pittsfield Police Department.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. when a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, driven by Mark Papkey, 52, collided with a southbound 2006 Subaru Forester.

The Subaru was driven by Parkpoom Seesangrit, 34, and also had two other occupants; Phannee Seesangrit, 61, and Krobkul Seesangrit, 35.

In response to the crash, Pittsfield Police Department, Pittsfield Fire Department, and County Ambulance arrived at 635 Merrill Road.

Both Parkpoom Seesangrit and Phannee Seesangrit were transported to BMC for their injuries, while Krobkul Seesangrit had to be airlifted to Albany Medical Center due to life-threatening injuries.

The collision resulted in the closure of the two southbound lanes of Merrill Road for around three hours to allow for an investigation and for the roadway to be cleared.
