DUI crash in Lyndonville

LYNDONVILLE — A 21-year-old man was arrested for DUI following a crash in Lyndonville today.

Authorities say they were notified of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Back Center Road at around 1:30 a.m.

The vehicle crashed into a telephone pole knocking it down along with the traffic lights connected to it.

Police say they were assisted by the Lyndonville Fire Department until the intersection could be reopened to travel.

The driver, identified as Armand Hebert, of Lyndon, fled the scene of the crash in his vehicle prior to their arrival.

He was located in his vehicle on Center Street by troopers at around 3:25 a.m.

During the investigation, Hebert displayed indicators of impairment, and was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

He was transported to the Vermont State Police St Johnsbury barracks for processing before being released with a citation to appear in court at a later date and time.
