1 min read

COVENTRY — Dustin Sheltra, 27, of Charleston, has been cited for burglary and possession of stolen property following a break-in at a Coventry storage unit, according to the Vermont State Police.

The authorities were initially alerted to the crime on July 5, when Joseph Lafleur, 40, of Burlington, reported that his storage unit on Route 5 had been burglarized. Items reported stolen included two rifles, fishing gear, camping gear, a Specialized road bike, and a Transition Sentinel mountain bike.

Following an investigation, Sheltra was cited for the offenses on July 10 while already in custody at Northern State Correctional Facility for an unrelated crime.

Although some of the stolen property has been recovered, the case remains active. Sheltra is scheduled to appear for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Newport.

Vermont State Police are urging anyone with information about the remaining stolen items or other individuals potentially involved to come forward.
