DORSET — A 40-year-old man from Danby was arrested following an incident in Dorset early this morning.
Authorities say they were notified of a 911 hang-up at a home on E View Lane at around 5:10 a.m.
Police allege that Ira Beaver had entered an occupied dwelling and caused bodily injury to an individual inside the home using a blunt object to strike the individual.
Troopers located Beaver and placed him under arrest for the offenses of burglary, and aggravated assault.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing.
After processing, Beaver was issued $2,000 bail and conditions of release.
He was brought to the Bennington County Courthouse to answer the offenses.
