Echo Lake to host Color Challenge 5K walk/run for a cause

EAST CHARLESTON — A family-fun 5K walk/run event, the Echo Lake Color Challenge, is inviting participants for a vibrant journey by beautiful Echo Lake.

Slated for Sunday, July 2, the event will start at 10 a.m. on West Echo Lake Road in East Charleston.

Runners and walkers will be treated to an array of colored powder showers as they traverse a 5K loop along the picturesque lake.

The event promises both physical activity and visual spectacle, offering an enjoyable experience for participants of all ages. The course is relatively flat and not overly strenuous and user friendly for all ages.

Those interested in joining the colorful challenge can register via mail-in application available at www.echolakeassociation.net, or online at Active.com.

The individual registration fee is $15 per person; the day of event registration is $20. Or you can form a “team” of four friends, family, or neighbors.

The team registration fee is $50 per team of four people; on the day of the event team registration is $60. The couple’s registration fee is $30; the day of event registration is $40.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Echo Lake Protective Association, a non-profit organization. The association is dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and responsible usage of Echo Lake.

Join the event for a morning of fun, exercise, and color, all in the spirit of supporting a worthy cause.
